TEACHING PLAN
At MITCON, students are trained to be goal oriented and focused in their pursuit of knowledge.
The range of teaching and learning methods used at MITCON includes lectures, case studies and presentation on strategic and contemporary issues, simulations and quizzes, assignments, competitions and practical projects. A strong emphasis is laid on the use of technology in learning. Further, enrichment is provided by way of guest lectures, Workshops and seminars, wherein an intelligent awareness on current corporate issue challenges is generated.
The Faculty acts as a facilitator and works in close association with the students to help them gain a better understanding of current economic and non-economic issue and studies. Faculty members are also appointed as mentors to groups of students where they meet at regular intervals to learn more about the student learning pattern and guide them .Students are taught to comprehend live corporate situations while also grasping a more realistic approach to decision making.
The pedagogy lays emphasis on increasing the human skills through clear conceptual understanding of subjects, with complete exposure to industrial practices. The approach includes the following steps:
Classroom Learning
State-of-the-art infrastructure, spacious, modern and well equipped classrooms converted into effective learning centers.
Case Study Method
The case study method serves dual purpose of understanding a situation and developing analytical skills. At MITCON, the facilitators believe in carefully planned and crafted studies of real-life cases, issues, and problems that facilitate students to work in groups and also learn team management skills. The method offers grounds for establishing reliability or generality of findings and helps the students to evaluate a particular situation with systems thinking. This pedagogy helps to build a multi -dimensional approach.
Role Plays
One of the most effective training methods practiced at MITCON, is role playing methodology. This technique is an excellent way to achieve a number of benefits for student fraternity. Role playing allows a group of students to act out work scenarios. It opens communications, and for the amount of time when it puts a student 'on-the-spot,' it also gives a great deal of confidence and develops camaraderie among those participating in (doing) the role play situations.
Workshops
There are periodical workshops conducted for students. Institute invites experts from industry and finishing schools for conducting these workshops. These workshops help students to get inspired from the eminent personalities and keep up with the latest industry trends. These workshops help them to imbibe good qualities and traits to become successful individuals in their personal and professional lives. Personality development workshops includes a multi-media CD show, question and answer session, interactive talk, self-analysis and introspection sessions and guided meditation sessions.
Project Reports
As an integral part of the curriculum, students are required to present a research project on a topic of their interest or specialization. This is an excellent opportunity for students to have close interaction with the industry-personnel who give them a live project to work on. The Project involves a great deal of industry interaction, market research and library work. On completion the students are required to make a presentation of their projects before the industry personnel, faculty members and students.
Summer Internship
Six to eight weeks of summer training with reputed companies help students understand theoretical concepts learned at the institute in a real life corporate context. Students work on live, time-bound projects and gain firsthand experience of the corporate culture and its requirements. The process helps develop a professional attitude, sense of responsibility, analytical ability and leadership qualities. It also helps the industry personnel to get acquainted with the students performance potential, acting as a major determinant if final placements, held in the campus. Students are trained in applied management while pursuing the program.
Industrial Visits
The Institute arranges for periodical Industrial visits to the reputed industries. These visits are designed to provide students with firsthand knowledge of a working environment and provide adequate exposure in tackling live problems encountered in the working of an industrial entity. Industry interface enable students to analyze and understand the ever changing dynamics of the industry.
Self Study
To keep in constant touch with changing business environment, the future managers are required to gather information from newspaper, magazines, journals and reference books. This is a part of rigorous curriculum.

Competency Enhancement Hub
MITCON is committed to enhance student learning experience in preparation for work based learning, employability and lifelong learning. All efforts of the center are directed towards identifying areas for improvement, creating targeted development plans, and measuring development effectiveness against well-defined set of metrics and goals. These enable students to develop strategic career development plans with clearly defined short-term and long term goals and measurable objectives; identify fiscal and personnel resources, and explore business and community partnerships. MITCON views competency enhancement as an ongoing process and it offers students the opportunity to assess individual and collective progress over time.

Student Centric Learning is an instructional approach in which the learner is placed at the center of education. COHORT is an activity @ MITCON, where students are trained to be goal oriented and focused in their pursuit of knowledge.
At MITCON, the individual involvement of the learners in the learning process is emphasized through their active participation in building up knowledge and understanding. Teachers play a facilitator role in the process. The two goals that are reached through learner-centered strategies are:

- The holistic personality development of the students

In modern times the personality of a job seeker is not merely by virtue of his IQ but his EQ too. That is, the learner should be equipped to understand the subtle, emotional and cultural nuances and react appropriately. This is where MITCON believes in the importance of acquiring proper communication skills. English Language Lab is set to hone the communicative competence.

Movie Club - Silver Screen Curriculum
MITCON actively supports learning through art and culture. In this spirit, MITCON in association with Business Development Bureau India Private Limited (BDB) has introduced a silver screen curriculum through BDB's Movie club. BDB is a leading market research and growth strategy development company. The movies screened in the club excite all students of management and exponentially widen their understanding of intricacy of business and enterprising. These movie screenings serve as a kind of silver-screen curriculum on leadership, ethics, and the exercise of power. To extract the management learning from the screening session, BDB executives along with faculty members moderate the session and students compete through a question-answer activity. The winner from each movie screening session gets a thousand rupees cash voucher from BDB and a BDB gift hamper.
